Democracy & Fayettenam
Emerson Theater Colaborative presents, Democracy & Fayettenam, a reflective solo performance from acclaimed performance artist Jay Ruby. The one-of-a-kind performance features spoken word and physical theater, addressing Early Settlement, American Transience/American Conscience, Water, Ghosts in the Mountain and Johnny Appleseed. Through the show, Ruby examines the roots and consequences of deep cultural conflict when approaching our relationship to the land, the future and each other. Produced by Camilla Ross
Jay Ruby is the founder and director of The Carpetbag Brigade, an international touring company specializing in acrobatic stilt walking. He also founded the Tsunami on the Square performing arts festival and Global Stilt Congress. He is currently based in Prescott, Arizona.
